Summer on Augusta 2013!

The First Annual Summer on Augusta was a hit! Thank you to everyone who came out to support The Road. We'll look to see you again next year. Below is a list of what all was happening during our celebration.

 

 

Summer on Augusta, presented by Virginia Hayes of Prudential C. Dan Joyner, will take place July 25th to July 27th. Businesses in the Augusta Road area are celebrating Summer with festivities, prize drawings, block parties, kids activities, special events, sidewalk extravaganzas, great food & cool drinks, live music & much more! It's going to be a great time on the road. Stay cool and beat the heat at Summer on Augusta! Don't forget to check out Only On Augusta Unplugged, Augusta Road's own newscast. Saturday, July 27th

Augusta Village - Sounds for Hounds 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Live music by Simple Syrup– 2 to 5 p.m. (Doug Jones, Charles Hedgepath, Adam McFarlane).
Hosted by Augusta Grill, LeGrand Bakery, Paisley & Paper, First Federal, Vino & Van Gogh and Wisteria. Event is pet friendly and Greenville Humane Society will be onsite with furry friends. Outdoor cash bar for beer and wine until 5:00. The Augusta Grill Bar will open at 11:30 offering a limited kid friendly menu. Children’s Summer Art Show! Pastry demonstration, ice cream, candy stand, buckets of bubbles, nail polish changes for kids, popcorn, complimentary bottled waters, sidewalk specials, prize drawings and giveaways. We'll have all the SOA sponsors visiting onsite! Virginia Hayes will have cookies for the kid's plus a raffle for a basket of "Augusta Road's favorite things" gift certificates. Muncaster Financial Services will have a BIG JAR of MONEY! Kid's can guess how much is in the jar for special prizes. Parents can guess what the future value is with prizes such at two gift certificates to Augusta Grill and some crab cakes. Priority One Security will have bottled waters and special drawing!

Augusta Commons  - Backyard Bash

Join Augusta Commons under the tents for specials a Backyard Bash, Saturday from 10 am - 8 pm. Live music by Alternate Take with Spencer Rush & Friends begins at 4 pm. Enjoy beer, wine, hot dogs with gourmet fixin's and Rita's Shaved Ice. Best Tomato (Mater) Pie Contest 2013 from 2-4 pm with special guest judge, Star Baker Francine Bryson from CBS American Baking Competition.

We’ll be shaggin the night away Saturday, July 27 with beach music by The Royal Scotsmen Band. Shag lessons begin at 6 p.m. and band will play your favorite beach tunes from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Hug Your Hound! Schedule a time during Summer on Augusta to photograph your pooch. Session is $50 and will be donated to Greenville Humane Society. Call 864-235-7864 to schedule.

The Grey Goose – Thur. - Sat. 10:30 a.m. Let’s get your toddler reading! Preschool teachers will be here reading a different book each day. Plus, tips on how to get your toddler to enjoy reading.
